Shaq has finally come to the end, he announced his retirement at his house yesterday bringing a end to a 19 year career in which he established himself as one of the most dominant centers of all time.

He decided to retire after a injury riddled season in Boston. He is old and slightly out of shape now, and I am glad that he chose to retire instead of dragging out an illustrious career like Brett Farve did.

During his years he won 4 NBA Titles, 3 with the Lakers and 1 with the Heat. He was Final’s MVP for all 3 titles he won with the Lakers. He ended up 5th all time on the scoring board despite being a horrific free throw shooter. He dominated whoever defended him, broken backboards happened, he couldn’t be stopped, unless they fouled him. He is one of the 3 best centers of all time, Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain are ahead of him, that is prestigious company to be named with.

Shaquille O’Neal’s retirement announcement was done in a way to continue the legacy that he created while he played. He did it at his house, mixing humor with his comments. He was well liked by the media, and known as one of the greatest and funniest personalities to be around.

Even though Shaq could have been better, I would like to say congratulations to one of the Greatest Players of all time, and a good person as well.
