Ok, here’s the deal, UConn Huskies beat the Butler Bulldogs last night, for the National Title. Wait, I would rather say that Butler Bulldogs beat themselves last night for the National Title.

Butler shot a lousy 18.8% from the field, the lowest ever in a National Title Game. They couldn’t make a shot to save their lives, not to mention they let UConn go on a 22-3 run in the second half. Given that they played horrible, they were lucky to only lose by 12.

UConn, didn’t shoot the best either, only 35%, but they walked out of Houston with a National Title, something that Butler has failed to achieve in 2 consecutive National Championship Game runs.

Kemba Walker, high scorer of the game with 16 points, but well below his tournament average. He gave the Huskies vital scoring while the game was close. Other players that stepped up for UConn were Jeremy Lamb and Alex Oriakhi, Lamb went for 12 points, and Oriakhi had 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Matt Howard, Butler’s Senior Stud, failed to deliver, shooting 1-13 with only 7 points, and Shelvin Mack, the player that has carried Butler through the tournament only scored 13 points.

This years National Title Game has been a let down to say the least, there has been so much drama, high scoring games, upsets, everything, just to get to the Final and have a team shoot itself out of any chance to win. A good game would have been like last years, only with Butler winning. That would have been nice, and would have made this years March Madness one of the Best Ever.

This March Madness just keeps getting Madder. I don’t know whats going on.
Butler is back, back to back Final 4’s I mean. VCU, who is VCU? They only beat USC, Georgetown, Purdue, Florida St. and Kansas, as an 11 seed. Now they get to match off verse the other Mid Major School, Butler

They other side of the bracket, not as crazy, but still, pretty crazy. UConn has continued, with the momentum of the Big East Championship, right into the Final 4. They have had the easiest route to the Final 4 of any the teams in, only having to knock off a 2 seed at best. Kentucky on the other hand, beat the #1 overall seed Ohio St. Buckeyes, and a red hot North Carolina team to get to where they are at.

Which match promises to be better. Experience says Butler and UConn will be in the Championship Game, because Butler has been here before, and UConn has an older team then Kentucky. Experience means nothing in this years tournament though, with Virgina Commonwealth making it this far. Many fans are jumping on their bandwagon, hoping for their run to continue.
This promises to be an exciting Final 4, with an even more intense Championship Game. I for one, Can’t Wait.

Ok, the tournament has only just begun, but here are some updates:

  1.  Butler knocked off ODU with a buzzer beating put back, off of a  tripped drive thrown up air ball,
  2.  West Virginia battled back from a  10 point deficit against Clemson to win the game 84-76,
  3.  Kentucky beat Princeton on a last second lay up,
  4.  Gonzaga decimated St. Johns 86-71,
  5. Morehead St. pulled off a major upset in their 1 point victory of Louisville,
  6. Temple knocked off Penn St. with a jumper with little time left on the clock,
  7. Richmond pulled off the upset against Vandy, to win by 3,
  8. #1 seed Pitt easily won against UNC-Asheville,
  9. Both #2 seeds Florida and San Diego St. won their games handily,
  10. Jimmer Fredette went for 32 against Wofford, to lead BYU to the victory,
  11. UConn and Kemba beat Bucknell to advance,
  12. Wisconsin easily won against Belmont, 72-58,
  13. Michigan St.’s run came up short as they rallied from a 18 point half time deficit, to lose by 2 to UCLA,
  14. Cincy came up with the big win against Mizzou,
  15. Kansas St. led by Jacob Pullen, beat a dangerous Utah St. team,

That was a recap of the first day, it is now the second day, and we get to wait and see what upsets will go down today. My bracket was shaken up by the Louisville loss, I had them beating Kansas in the Sweet 16, so who knows what will happen now.

Comment on what you think is the biggest upset of the second round is.

Ok, here’s a little bit of Bracketology for that good ol March Madness. I’m not an expert by any means, but I watch a lot of ESPN, and many college ball games this year.

Big East is strong, Pitt, UConn, Notre Dame, G-Town, St. Johns, Marquette, Cincy, West Virginia, Nova, Syracuse, and Louisville. I expect the Big East to be the most dominant conference in the NCAA Tournament this year. I have Notre Dame winning a National Championship with 3 other Big East teams: Syracuse, Pitt, and Louisville in the Elite Eight. Notre Dame has been playing some amazing basketball of late, with Abromaitis and Hansbrough coming into fine form.

Ohio St. will also make a strong run for the title this year. They have an all-star team, with their sharp shooting seniors: Jon Diebler and David Lighty, and their stud freshman post Jared Sullinger.  I expect Ohio St. to make the Championship Game, but lose.

BYU is my Dark Horse of the tournament. I have them making a run to the Final 4. They will be carried by their star, Mr. Jimmer Fredette. He rattled off an astounding 52 points against New Mexico. He has the scoring ability to carry his team to the Final 4 and break the NCAA Tournament Scoring record set by Glen Rice of Michigan, who scored 184 points in 6 games.

Texas is another team I have going far in the tournament. During the middle of the season when they were playing well, they were dominating teams, entirely destroying them. I belive that they are back to the form they were in mid-season and ready to make a run to the Final 4.

My major opening round upset is #12 Richmond knocking off #5 Vandy.  Richmond is a good team that has had a good season, Vandy, has a good shooter in John Jenkins, but I think Richmond is going to shut him down.

I have both Duke and Kansas, both 1 seeds, losing in the Sweet 16. Kansas has had some struggles this season, most exemplified in their loss to Kansas St. and I think Louisville will be able to beat them. Duke, a good team, but depth and injuries could be a problem for them. They are missing one of their stars in Kyrie Irving, and if any other player on their team was to suffer an injury they would be shot. I have them losing to Texas, a team that will wear them down with their athletic play.

Here is my Bracket, If you like it or dislike it give me some feedback. I am made an ESPN group called Mas Sports. Join it and see if your bracket beats mine.
